Ancient Olympia

Friday 19

It took us three and a half hours to get to ancient Olympia. When we arrived it was just starting to rain. The museum closed at four and the archaeological site closed at five and the time was three. So we decided to visit the museum first. We looked at all different marble statues and small perfume bottles that were 6000 years old. Surprisingly the moment that we were out of the museum the rain instantly stopped, so we knew that we were in luck. In the archaeological site there was a long dirt path that was surrounded by grass that was the same race track that the first Olympians raced on and we raced down it and back and I won. We went and saw one of the wonders of the ancient world which were there was one large pillar. On the chart there was a picture of the temple of Zeus. The thing that is special about the site is that once every four years in Greece they will light the Olympic torch and take it all around the world.

Today we travelled 152km from Kardamili to ancient Olympia in total today we travelled 304 km and in the total for this trip we have travelled 15,626 km.
